About the role

The General Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the day-to-day operations and business growth. This role requires initiative and leadership, ensuring effective governance, strategic planning, new business development and operational execution. The General Manager will be responsible for driving growth, fostering collaboration, and advancing the organisation's mission within the industry, while also being self-sufficient in managing tasks and initiatives independently.

Strategic Leadership:

• Provide visionary leadership to advance our mission and vision within the industry.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth, advocacy, and engagement among stakeholders.

Program Oversight:

• Provide leadership in developing and executing B2B and B2C marketing strategies to enhance industry visibility and drive business opportunities.

Partnership Development:

• Cultivate and nurture strategic partnerships with industry associations, government agencies, businesses, and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for collaboration and advocacy to further the organisation's goals and objectives.

Communication and Engagement:

• Ensure effective communication and engagement with members, stakeholders, and the broader industry community.
• Represent our company at industry events, conferences, and forums to promote its mission and objectives.

Team Development:

• Provide mentorship and guidance to direct reports, fostering their growth and development.
• Create a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages innovation and excellence.

• Has a thorough understanding of business and inspiring leader. 
• Possess an innovative flair, passion for excellence, outcome-driven, exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong, inspiring attitude.

• Highly successful at handling detailed, complex concepts and problems, balancing multiple tasks and competing demands simultaneously, and making appropriate decisions regarding administrative issues. 
• Excel at stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and be able to build networks and strong, positive working relationships with members, staff, industry sector members and other industry organisations and bodies. 
• A strong background in Operations and Business Development.
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of this management role and meet deadlines.
