About the role:
Reporting to the Director Living Well, the General Manager, Social Services is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, management and operational leadership of a range of Social Services programs. The aim of the position is to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of individual programs and services and the achievement of strategic objectives, across a number of existing and emerging geographic areas.
About you:
Essential:
- Proven success in a managerial role including an ability to manage change processes that support strategic direction, ensure the high performance and accountability of individuals and teams.
- Demonstrated track record in development of business cases, project management and commissioning of new and or expanded services.
- Strong decision-making ability.
- Demonstrated competence in service planning, implementation and review in a dynamic, complex environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills including the capacity for presentation, negotiation, mediation, advocacy and conflict resolution.
- Proven ability to develop and achieve Strategic, tactical, financial plans and KPI’s.
- Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable.
- Strong working knowledge of operational procedures.
- Proof of Vaccination Status as required by Legislation, Health Directives or WMQ Policy throughout employment and prior to commencement.
- Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business management or related field.
- Experience in conducting performance evaluations.
- Working knowledge of human-resources processes.
