Job description

Join Northern NSW Football's Executive Leadership Team

Northern NSW Football, in partnership with our Member Zones and Clubs, is at the forefront of promoting and developing football across our region. In alignment with our strategic plan and on the back of our game's continued growth, we seek a visionary General Manager for Women & Girls and Participation.

This role is not just about advancing women's and girls' football, but about making a real difference in our community. It's about increasing participation across all segments and ensuring sustainable and inclusive football environments across the Northern NSW region. As a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team, the General Manager will drive strategic initiatives, enhance the profile of football, grow opportunities for women and girls within football, increase participation of underrepresented populations, and foster a culture of growth, excellence, and community engagement.

Are you a visionary leader passionate about making a real difference in the community? Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) seeks a dynamic General Manager for Women & Girls and Participation to join our Executive Leadership Team. This pivotal role is essential to our mission of ensuring "more people are playing more football more often" within our region.

As the General Manager for Women & Girls and Participation, you will drive strategic initiatives to enhance football participation across all segments, with a particular focus on women and girls. Your role will be crucial in developing and delivering localised participation strategies that promote sustainable and inclusive football environments throughout Northern NSW. You will work closely with Member Zones and clubs to create and implement programs that resonate with the community, ensuring our sport reaches new heights.

We are seeking a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sports administration or a similar field. You should be a master of strategic planning, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. As a community builder, you should have exceptional relationship-building skills and a history of fostering collaboration across diverse groups to achieve positive outcomes. Your deep understanding of the football landscape, especially women's and girls' football, will be a game-changer in this role.

As a passionate advocate for the sport, you will excel in communication, have a history of advocacy and public speaking, and can articulate and drive the vision of increasing football participation. An effective communicator, you will be experienced in program development, budget management, and fundraising, focusing on achieving measurable results.

The benefits of this role are substantial. You will have a significant impact by shaping the future of football in Northern NSW and making a tangible difference in the community. Enjoy an amazing working environment that supports work-life balance and access to regular professional development and training opportunities to help you grow in your role. Engage directly with the community and participate in some of the region’s biggest football events. Benefit from a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program and regular performance reviews to support your success.

This role is vital to NNSWF’s efforts to promote and grow football across our region. Enhancing participation, particularly among women and girls, will help foster a culture of growth, excellence, and community engagement. Your leadership will ensure that football remains an inclusive and thriving sport, reflecting the diverse and vibrant communities we serve.

If you are ready to take on this exciting leadership role and have the passion and experience to drive participation in Northern NSW, we want to hear from you. Join us at Northern NSW Football and help us take our game to the next level.

What You Will Do as General Manager for Women & Girls and Participation

  • Craft and implement a comprehensive strategy for growing community participation (particularly women and girls), aligned with Northern NSW Football's strategic goals. Develop local participation strategies and drive initiatives that enhance growth, stakeholder engagement, and inclusion across all levels of the game.

  • Foster collaboration through the establishment and ongoing management of NNSWF’s various Advisory Groups (e.g. Women & Girls, First Nations, Multicultural, Youth)
  • Forge and maintain robust relationships with Member Zones, Clubs, Schools, Community Groups, Sponsors, and Government Bodies to promote football participation. Act as a champion for female football within the organisation and in the broader community and deliver strategies that will grow the game for Women & Girls across the region.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to elevate the game's profile and specifically showcase women's and girls' football. Develop content and strategies that attract media representation and highlight success stories, programs, and events.
  • Ensure programs and initiatives comply with relevant regulations, safeguarding policies, and best practices. Promote integrity, equity, and respect across all football activities.
  • Oversee sustainable budget development and management for the business units' initiatives. Secure funding and grants to support program delivery and growth.
  • Implement and manage evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives. Use data-driven insights for strategic planning and continuous improvement.
