About the role:
As a newly established role, the General Manager of Operations will be central in optimising and enhancing the Institute’s global operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role will have oversight of the optimisation of business support services, managing member and volunteer experiences, and leading strategic projects. The role is based in Australia with a remote working arrangement.
The General Manager of Operations will:
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives to increase efficiencies and support the team on the optimisation journey
- Lead strategic projects and work in close partnership with the CEO to elevate the Institute
- Enhance the volunteer and member experience
- Identify new opportunities for membership growth
- Engage with the volunteer base, members, and various stakeholders to expand the Institute’s existing reach
- Manage operational risks, legal compliance and oversee budget management.

The successful General Manager of Operations will be:
- A dynamic leader of people and operational management with a focus on scaling operations for future growth and delivering service excellence
- Innovative and experienced in project planning and delivery, and leading data-informed change programs to improve services and processes
- Skilled in implementing and enhancing digital technologies, with experience in membership systems, CRMs, Hivebrite, Power BI, AI, and Office365
- Strong in their ability to communicate and manage relationships across volunteer communities and cultures and work autonomously in a remote setting with flexible hours.
