YHA Australia is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of YHA Hobart Central and take the lead as we re- launch the neighbouring pub. This unique role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for tourism, hospitality, and leadership. The General Manager will be responsible for creating exceptional guest experiences, managing a diverse team, and utilising high level financial acumen to drive the success of the business.
Key Aspects of the Role:
Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the entire team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and guest satisfaction.
Team Member Development: Build a food & beverage team whilst overseeing the existing accommodation team; Recruit, train, and mentor team members, promoting their growth and professional development.
Guest Experience: Ensure positive and life changing traveller experiences by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, local experience opportunities, and exceptional service to diverse segments.
Food and Beverage Development: In collaboration with the National Food and Beverage Manager, re-launch a successful pub operation; strategy and financial planning, development of policies and procedures, compliance, procurement, sales and promotions strategies, customer experience.
Business and Budget Management: Creating a business plan and annual budget; ensuring consistent, efficient, and comprehensive cost control, revenue management, and financial reporting.
Quality Control and Compliance: Maintain national quality standards and ensure that all operations comply with local, state, and Australian laws and regulations.
Marketing, Partnership, and Promotion: Collaborate with the commercial team to implement marketing strategies to attract and retain guests and increase spend; including social media management, and partnerships with local tour operators and other purpose- driven businesses.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in hotel management.
- Prior experience in pub or bar management is essential.
