The General Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of sales consultants with the primary objective to achieve sales targets and profit margins through the focus on key elements including customer service, the sales process and discipline, product knowledge and effective administration. The General Sales Manager must comply with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the sales team with customer interactions to ensure effective outcomes
  • Ensures consistently high standards are established and maintained by the parts team in all relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitates respectful and ethical liaison with OEM representatives
  • Drives and monitors process to enhance the customer purchase experience
  • Ensures all new staff are inducted on the expected standards of customers service 
  • Directly supports and/or manages any customer complaint in line with JMG customer process

The General Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of Car Sales Consultants with the primary objective to achieve sales targets and profit margins through the focus on key elements including customer service, the sales process and discipline, product knowledge and effective administration. The General Sales Manager must comply with established policies and procedures.

We operate a 5-day week Monday to Saturday, with an RDO in lieu of Saturday. 

Our Ideal Candidate: 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Strong business acumen including strategic and operational planning
  • Strong financial acumen including experience with budgets and expense tracking
  • Process driven and proactive with strong initiative
  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve set sales targets and profit margins
  • High levels of self-motivation, drive, and resilience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong sales negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with internal and external customers
  • Proficient with DMS (Dealership Management System) and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong management and leadership experience including the ability to keep the team focused and motivated in a challenging work environment.
