Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
The role of General Services Supervisor is an essential member of our leadership team in our pursuit to provide exceptional customer and staff experience within the Support Services team at Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children’s Hospital.
About the Role - General Services Supervisors
Fantastic opportunity for a General Services Supervisor to make their mark and lead a team of passionate and highly dedicated Patient Service Assistants (PSA) and Environmental Service Assistants (ESA). Reporting to the General Services Manager, this role also includes driving excellence across linen, pest control, washroom, and waste services to ensure operational objectives are met. As a valued and respected team member, you will be welcomed by a truly supportive and inspiring leadership team who encourage upskilling, growth and career development. Key responsibilities of General Services Supervisor include but not limited to:
Lead and mentor a team of General Services talent
Actively contribute to a positive team culture
Roster management
Achieve accreditation for areas of responsibility
Meet service key performance indicators
Deliver high-quality customer focused services
Manage site-wide cleaning, waste, linen and patient movement requests
The following position is now available:
Monday to Friday
5:30am and 6:30am starts
(76 hour per fortnight with an ADO)
About You
You are an amazing Support Services professional who takes personal pride in your work and brings out the best in people. You’re currently in hospitality or healthcare seeking a new opportunity to showcase your expertise in customer service, employee experience and dynamic operational management. We invite you to join our friendly, hardworking team and showcase your ability to provide high quality, customer focused service to internal and external stakeholders. You will thrive and excel in driving a culture of efficient timely response to requests for service to achieve sustainable service delivery across all areas of our newly built cardiac facility.
To ensure your success in this role, you will have following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
Demonstrated leadership skills to supervise and mentor a team is essential
Sound computer/digital skills required with roster management and Kronos knowledge desirable
Agility in multi-tasking and prioritising
Ensure high standard of cleaning, infection prevention best practice and cleaning requirements
Understanding of Victorian Public Hospital Cleaning Standards
Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
Excellent communication skills and able to implement written instructions and company procedures
Understanding of patient identification procedures
High standard of integrity and confidentiality required at all times
