Applications Close: 11 April 2024This is a temporary part time 25 hours per week maternity relief position until 29 June 2025 with the possibility of an extension at same/reduced hours.What you'll be doingThe Associate Cancer Genetic Counsellor will work within the Hereditary Cancer Clinic, providing genetic counselling and education of clients, triaging of referrals, organisation of clinic, education of health professionals and the community, and promotion of the Hereditary Cancer Clinic.
The Level 1 clinician is responsible and accountable for providing a professional level of service to the health facility.
The Level 1 clinician will exercise professional judgement commensurate with their years of experience, as experienced is gained, the level of professional judgement increases and direct professional supervision decreases.The Level 1 clinician will participate in quality activities and workplace education.After 12 months experience the Level 1 Clinician may be required to provide supervision to undergraduate students and work experience students on observational placements.What we can offer youThe Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) provides you with an excellent career choice with many rewarding experiences. - Knowledge and understanding of the application of evidence based practice to Genetic Counselling.
