We are now seeking an Open Pit Production Assistant to join our Mine Geology team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Accountable to the OP Senior Mine Geologist.
This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.
Accountabilities:
- Accountable for monitoring mining activities, identify and communicate issues affecting quality of mining methods.
- Provide support to the Mine Geologists in short term grade control processes through effective monitoring of grade control drilling, ore spotting, material movement data collection.
- Implementation and supervision of blast movement indicators.
- Communicating formally and informally with Open-Pit Mining department staff and providing the Mining Department with daily dig plans, and process performances.
- Planning and coordination of regular ore markups as required for production.
- Managing daily material movement data with regards to haulage and ROM transfer.
- Managing daily drilling data with regards to grade control.
- Liaise with the mining contractor on production reporting data, data QAQC and validation
- Providing interface between production and geology department.

- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- A good understanding of software applications including MS Suite and mining specific software is desirable but not essential.
- A results oriented can-do approach to getting things done and a desire to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Geology or relevant graduates encouraged to apply.
- A WA C class (manual) drivers licence
- Australian Permanent Residency (Mandatory)
- A National Police Clearance
