Since our establishment in 1936, Cancer Council Victoria has developed an international reputation for our innovative work in cancer research, prevention and support. As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, we play a leading role in reducing the impact of all cancers on all people.
The Fundraising and Communications Division is responsible for ensuring that Cancer Council maintains a visible, engaging presence in the community; and to inspire and activate support from Victorians.
This is achieved through best-practice high volume direct marketing approaches; exceptional relationship management of high value supporters including major donors, charitable foundations, corporate partners and Gifts in Wills supporters; delivery of iconic fundraising events; and product sales and royalties through our retail arm.
The Partnerships and Philanthropy Unit is responsible for developing and implementing an effective relationship management approach with high value supporters to deliver significant and sustainable income to support the work of Cancer Council Victoria – working with major donors, charitable foundations, corporate partners and Gifts in Wills supporters.

About the opportunity
We are seeking a seeking a highly motivated Gifts in Will Senior Manger to join the Fundraising and Communications Division. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy your role is to:
- Lead the implementation of a new Gifts in Wills strategy to maximise opportunities for the retention, growth and acquisition of Gifts in Wills supporters.
- Coach, inspire and empower the Gifts in Wills Team by developing capability in relationship management, innovation, continuous improvement and problem- solving.
- Collaborate with teams across Fundraising and Communications Division to develop the Gifts in Wills marketing and brand collateral used to support the Gifts in Wills strategy.
- Oversee the resolution of complex, high value or disputed Estates and liaise with relevant divisions to find beneficial solutions.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Estate revenue and forecasts.
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, commerce or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience and proven track record in a similar account management, sales or face-to-face role, preferably in bequests or major gifts.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the principles of wills and estates as well as the marketing of charitable bequests.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into operational plans and inspire and influence colleagues beyond team boundaries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Results focussed with the ability to manage a broad workload, focus on the big picture and deliver day-to-day.
