The Opportunity
Based at our Tingalpa factory and reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be working in a small team operating the Tamglass Glaston pro-E HTF 2 glass furnace to achieve delivery in full on time. Operation of the furnace includes managing settings, cycle times and convection as well as AFO automation software.
This role is also responsible for troubleshooting temperature control, glass breakage, bowing and white haze issues, and standards testing. This is a permanent full-time position, and will be based on Night shift (Sunday – Thursday, 9pm – 5:30am) This role will ideally suit hands-on, self-motivated person with furnace operation experience in the processing, manufacturing or production industry.
Responsibilities may include
- Glass Handling - manual and overhead crane operation
- Loading and unloading furnace
- Labelling of glass panels
- Preparing glass IGU
- Troubleshooting glass quality issues
- Producing high quality work in line with production timelines
- General housekeeping
- Maintain a safe working environment
Our ideal candidate
- Experience operating a furnace, and working in a similar role within the manufacturing/processing industry
- Experience using overhead crane would be highly regarded
- Ability to understand and follow detailed production schedules
- Ability to problem solve
- Quality focused and driven with a high attention to detail
- Safety conscious, ensuring a safe work environment
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and a team player
