THE ROLE
We are on the hunt for a Global Sourcing Specialist to join our team based in Wakerley Queensland to assist in Supply Chain Management. If you are an experienced sourcing engineer with knowledge of the global market, for places like China, India, Mexico, etc, we would love to hear from you! Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this role will see you work on diversifying our supply chain across the globe. Our ideal candidate will have experience dealing with various manufacturing companies around the world, preferably in the textile industry or steel industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively engage with key stakeholders, both internally & externally, to ensure agreed business goals are met.
- Strategizing to find cost-effective deals and negotiate with suppliers.
- Translating business requirements into effective tender documentation.
- Act as Sourcing Lead to source product-related parts, raw materials, and machinery for mass production.
- Assist in the initial setup of the supply chain in a new country and manage day-to-day all supply functions
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure profitability is maximised at all times.
- Ensure the quality and compliance of manufactured products with industry standards and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sourcing/procurement/supply chain.
- Talent in negotiations and networking
- High level of analytical and research skills.
- Strong project management leadership, knowledge, and experience.
- Availability to travel overseas multiple times throughout the year.
- Having existing contacts and supply chain connections in fabric or steel industry is highly desirable
- Strong work ethic and the willingness to go the extra mile.
