A little about the role at Whaleback Golf Course:
Whaleback is a picturesque Golf Course located within the City of Canning. Now is the perfect time to join as the City recently took over management and with exciting new course developments are coming soon!
As a Golf Course Greenkeeper Apprentice, you’ll work and learn to uphold the highest standards of greenkeeping maintenance, working full-time while you balance learning a trade and attend studies weekly at TAFE.
In this role, you will undertake duties such as:
- Assist in the maintenance and care of the Golf Course including mowing, fertilising and irrigating greens fairways and roughs.
- Learn and apply proper techniques for the aeration and topdressing of turf areas.
- Participate in pest and weed control activities to ensure the health and appearance of the Golf Course.
- Contribute to the setup of the Golf Course for daily play, tournaments, and special events.
- Operate and maintain various turf equipment ensuring proper functionality and safety.
- Work collaboratively with the greenkeeping team to achieve and exceed course maintenance standards
Skills & Experience
- Enthusiasm about Golf Course maintenance and turf management is essential!
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the demands of the role
- Technical aptitude to operate machinery safely and within standards
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Completion of Year 10 minimum
