Just a bit about Whaleback Golf Course!
Whaleback is a picturesque Golf Course located within the City of Canning. Now is the perfect time to join as the City recently took over management and exciting new course developments are coming soon!
As a Golf Course Greenkeeper, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the turf at the Whaleback Golf Course through mowing, renovations, plant operations, irrigation and maintaining upkeep of the grounds. You will also work in a team environment, mentor Apprentices and interact regularly with customers.
In this role, you will undertake duties such as:
- Maintain and care for the Golf Course greens including mowing, fertilising and irrigating green fairways and roughs
- Undertake pest and weed control activities to maintain the health of the greens
- Contribute to set up for daily play, tournaments and special events including changing holes
- Operate and maintain turf equipment for functionality and safety
- Work within a collaborative team to achieve and exceed course maintenance standards
What we’re looking for:
- Experience with sports turf management is essential
- Experience maintaining Golf Courses is high advantageous
- Ability to identify weeds, pests and diseases
- Good time management and attention to detail are critical skills to possess
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a physically demanding role
- Experience with Rainbird Irrigation System is highly regarded
