Work closely with the Company Secretary to support the corporate governance function of a Deaf-led not-for-profit organisation.
About the Role
As our Governance Officer your role is to support the Company Secretary with facilitating the company’s corporate governance processes to ensure that all board processes run efficiently and effectively.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Governance administration – maintain board management software, company registers such as those for conflict of interest and company policies, board member documentation, and board/committee scheduling.
- Compliance – oversee compliance program and ensure legislative obligations are met; maintain company registers such as those for membership and bequests; and support administration of the National Redress Scheme.
- Meetings & Minutes – draft, maintain, and distribute minutes of all general meetings of the company; distribute meeting notifications; support preparation for and attendance of general meetings of the company.

About You

- Strong board governance and administration skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in legal or corporate governance
- High-level interpersonal communication skills including experience with communicating with senior executives and board members
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work in a confidential manner
