About the role The GP Advisor (WPPP) position is an advisory role based at HNECC (Hunter New England and Central Coast) PHN (Primary Health Network). This position is focused on providing GP clinician input into the GP Workforce Planning and Prioritisation program across the PHN footprint. This role will support the WPPP team to identify and deliver workforce training needs and capacity assessment reports. This program plays a key role in informing College planning of GP training including the quality and distribution of training to meet primary care health needs and the needs of multiple stakeholders. The GP Advisor will champion PHN initiatives by leading peer discussions and promoting change within the primary care setting. The Clinical Advisor will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing advice, fostering networks, supporting the development of resources and training through the implementation of a broad range of key initiatives. The successful candidate will have:Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a GP in NSW.Understanding of Primary Health Networks (PHNs) and their purpose.Demonstrated experience and commitment to medical education and training – undergraduate, postgraduate and or vocational.Demonstrated experience a variety of assessment methods for clinical competence, monitoring, and support of doctors in training.Demonstrated high level experience in direct observation of, and feedback for registrars.Relevant and current knowledge of requirements of Australian General Practice Training, RACGP (Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) Vocational Training Standards, ACRRM (Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine) Training Standards for Supervisors and Training Posts, National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER), as well as the emerging challenges and opportunities related to achieving high quality, distributed GP training in Australia.How to apply:Select the “Apply” button.Please address the selection criteria in your cover letter.
