The Role
As a Grader Operator, you will use your high level of skills and knowledge to perform a range of asset and infrastructure maintenance activities throughout the City and you will do it with our community front of mind.
Working within a close-knit team based at Morwell Depot, you will contribute to the on-site activities of Council's Roads Teams, predominately using a Grader and sometimes a free roll and have demonstrated skills and experience across the range of plant and equipment typically used in the maintenance of roads, drainage and vegetation.
Reporting to the Leading Hand - Roads, you will assist across any area of the maintenance operations where work priorities demand, helping to achieve the overall objectives of the Infrastructure Maintenance Team and City Presentation.
Working hours will be from 7:00AM - 4:00PM with 9-day fortnight. Workdays will nominally start and conclude at Latrobe City Council's depot at Driffield Rd, Morwell however where an operational efficiency exists direct start on site with commuter use of a Council vehicle may occur .
About You
For this role, we are seeking an experienced road maintenance employee to utilise a high-level of competency-based skills and knowledge to perform a range of asset and infrastructure maintenance activities throughout the municipality. You will ensure work performed is of a high quality and meets the required service levels and standards set by Council.
You will need:
- Current heavy rigid vehicle licence.
- Competency operating a Motor Grader as well as plant and vehicles used in road maintenance including but not limited to Tractor and slasher/reach mower, skid steer loader, excavator, compaction equipment and flocon.
- Practical experience undertaking road maintenance and minor construction works.
- Current Traffic Control and Worksite Management certificate.
- Construction Induction (White Card).
All successful applicants are required to undergo a Police Check, Pre-Employment Medical Check and hold a valid employee Working with Children Check.
