We’re looking for Graduate Engineers to join our 2025 Graduate Program.
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport connects South Australians to keep our State moving. We want every South Australian to easily access the services they want, the transport they rely on and the infrastructure they need.

What you can expect as an Engineering Graduate:
As a Graduate Engineer you’ll gain valuable experience in various areas of the Department, helping you develop a comprehensive understanding of the work we do. You’ll also gain hands-on experience in a variety of functions including contract and asset management, regulation and policy, and infrastructure and construction projects.
Our Graduate Engineers help us plan for and build new and better roads, intersections, bridges, rail, marine and social infrastructure that will benefit current and future generations of South Australians. You’ll get to work on some of the biggest and most significant infrastructure projects undertaken in South Australia.
Key components of our Graduate Program:
- Project Work: Gain experience working on projects across the entire project life-cycle, from planning to delivery to contract management.
- Work Rotations: Undertake tailored rotations across the Department based on your discipline and learning opportunities.
- Learning and Development: Be provided with a formal learning program and exposure to ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Mentoring: Gain access to a range of highly experienced and supportive colleagues in both the engineering profession and other areas of our Department.
- Graduate Network: Join a community of fellow graduates across professions and from different entry years – setting you up with a professional network of like-minded individuals.
About You
We are seeking bright, collaborative and innovative engineering graduates who demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, taking on challenges, problem solving and working in a team.
If you have completed a degree in the last two years or will complete a degree by the end of 2024, in one of the following areas, our Graduate Program is for you:
- Civil Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Traffic Engineering
Applicants must have Australian Citizenship, permanent residency or a visa that allows them to work in Australia.
