ABOUT THE JOB
The primary responsibilities as Graduate environmental consultant will include:
- Preparation of environmental reports, including REFs (Review of Environmental Factors)
- Reviewing and interpreting legislation and various policy documents
- Fieldwork including site inspections and water quality monitoring
- GIS analysis
- Data analysis
ABOUT YOU
The role would suit candidates with an understanding of environmental management in an urban context. Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- A degree with honours in a relevant field, such as environmental science, engineering, planning or design is essential
- An interest in environmental policy and environmental legislation
- An interest in urban environmental management including fields such as waterway and catchment management, urban heat mitigation, green-blue infrastructure, urban ecology or similar
- Sound analytical skills, including an understanding of techniques for analysing various types of environmental data, spatial information and non-quantitative information.
- Strong willingness to learn new things including new software
- Excellent communication skills including high quality written communication.
- Graphic communication skills will be well regarded.
- Strong skills in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Experience using Adobe InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite software would be highly regarded.
- Experience using GIS would be highly regarded
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and work collaboratively across boundaries.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated
