A permanent opportunity has become available for a proactive and enthusiastic Graduate Materials Engineer to support our busy team located in Balcatta.
Callidus provide engineering design and optimization services for valves and process flow equipment within Oil/Gas and Mining sectors. The role will support the technical delivery of projects internally and directly to the clients.
Main responsibilities will be to:
- Visit client sites in order to understand their work processes and develop relationships with key personnel.
- Provide technical support to the workshop.
- Interface with clients, workshop and suppliers to gain a full understanding of manufacturing processes and communicate this effectively through. procedures and Process Instructions.
- Preparing comprehensive technical reports and proposals.
- Maintain precise technical records in accordance with company procedures and relevant standards.
- Conduct non-destructive materials testing and interpret test results for condition assessments and root cause analysis investigations.
- Perform analysis using in-house laboratory equipment (training provided).
- Carrying out laboratory test work using a range of analytical techniques and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate and reliable records of test results.
- Successfully contribute to a safe working environment.
The Successful Candidate will ideally have:
- A Graduate of Bachelor of Science (Materials Engineering) or Bachelor of Engineering (Materials) qualification.
- Strong communication skills - written, presentation and verbal.
- Have demonstrated technical writing skills, ability to report and make recommendations.
- Have sound knowledge of practical and theoretical engineering applications.
- Experience in laboratory test work, with preference for direct experience of metallurgical laboratories.
- Excellent computer skills especially with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent numeracy and data management skills
- Knowledge of materials failure mechanisms preferred
