Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife – Graduate Program

 (12 month or 18 month programs available- Please select on PMCV)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Graduate Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) to join the team at Latrobe Regional Health. This will be for a full 12 or 18  month graduate program at 0.8 EFT, rotating through two different clinical areas (two 6 month rotations for 12 month program or 6 months general nursing and 12 months midwifery for 18 motnh program). 

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager on your allocated units/wards, in collaboration with the Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Coordinator, you will be expected to perform the duties of a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife during your graduate year and expected to meet all the requirements outline in the Position Description attached.

Graduates who are successful in obtaining this position will have a strong clinical focus with the desire to continue to develop as a midwife with an understanding of the importance of family centred care.

The successful applicant will be required to submit:

  • Resume
  • Cover Letter
  • 3 most recent clinical appraisals at least one nursing and midwifery placement, with the third being the next most recent.
  • Academic Transcript (Unofficial is accepted
  • If PMCV (Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria) eligible please ensure you apply on PMCV and Mercury and select 12 or 18 motnhs program 

Programs details:

  • 12 month program:2 X 6 monthly rotations (acute nursing and midwifery)
  • 18 month program: 1 X 6 month rotation (acute nursing) and 1 X 12 month rotation (midwifery)
