BKA Architecture is an established practice of around 25 design professionals, located across 3 studios, Sydney, Newcastle and the North Coast. Our focus includes all types and scale of Residential, Educational, Community and Commercial Projects.
Our unique Clunes studio, located on the North Coast of NSW is currently looking for an experienced and talented Graduate of Architecture to assist in the delivering of medium to large-scale projects for the local government and education sectors.
The Role
As a Graduate of Architecture in a small office you will have an opportunity to play a pivotal support role across a broad range of projects. Reporting to the Director you will work under supervision to assist in all facets of the business from concept design, site meetings, construction stages and administration.
Job duties:
• Lead and engage in the production of schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
• Prepare, develop, and edit drawings such as plans, working drawings, and other documents related to the design of architectural projects.
• Utilise manual and digital graphic techniques and modelling to produce realistic and clear 2D and 3D designs describing form and spatial relationships.
• Review, understand, and implement building codes, rules, laws, and standards on projects for client and council submissions.
• Attend client meetings and obtain advice on building designs and alterations to existing buildings whilst providing information on materials, designs, and building time estimation.
• Perform site visits to analyse and compile data on topographical, environmental, and existing
structures for potential development recommendations.
• Generate and maintain project records for the work assigned, including entering time worked on jobs weekly in Workflow Max.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• Minimum 2 - 4 years experience
• Bachelor in Architecture or related field.
• Competent in ArchiCad
• Experience in Education and/or Community Buildings essential, ideally having worked in the local area
• Ability to work well in a team and autonomously
• Current White Card
• Driving licence
• Australian visa with work rights essential.
