About the Team

Graduate Research School is responsible for providing strategic leadership, innovation, and excellence in research training across the University.  The School is central to meeting the goals of the UTS Research Strategy. Our aim is to produce the next generation of the research workforce to lead in industry, academia, and professions and to become known as the destination for training for research careers in industry.

About the role 

Located in the Graduate Research Operations team at the Graduate Research School, the Graduate Research Coordinatoris responsible for providing high level expertise, administration and service and strategic support in complex issues related to HDR (Higher Degree by Research) admissions, candidature management, examination and graduation, collaborative research degrees, governance, and compliance. 

The coordinator is also responsible for managing projects within the team and providing high level support for HDR policy development.

If successful for the role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high level administration and support in complex cases and processes related to the HDR journey from application to conferral
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to HDR students, supervisors and the UTS Research Community on all aspects of HDR administration
  • Monitor and process all changes to HDR candidature in accordance with the university's rules, timeline, and team's agreed timeframe
  • Monitor and process HDR examinationsto ensure fast examination turn around
  • Develop a high level of expertise and knowledge of University and government policies, legislation and procedures related to HDR matters
  • Develop a detailed knowledge and high level of proficiency of the University's enterprise systems for students & researchers

  3. Demonstrated capacity to provide a high quality client-focused customer service 
  4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment including the capacity to contribute to decision making and the achievement of shared outcomes
  5. High level critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $91,254 to $98,805 pa (HEW 6)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

The Graduate Research School currently operate on a hybrid working arrangement, which includes 3 days in the office. 

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
