The Faculty of Science's organisational structure consists of two large scale Schools, two Research Institutes with supporting administrative services and technical services. This position is located at the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MaPS), Faculty of Science, UTS. MaPS is led by an executive team which consists of the Head of School and School Manager, Associate Heads of School, Discipline Leaders and Centre Directors.
About the Role
The Research Centre Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Research Centre and Research Institute Director(s) within the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MaPS) to achieve management and administrative objectives.
The role is responsible for providing essential administrative support to all staff, across its diverse range of activities, including research objectives. This support includes tasks associated with administration, project establishment, contracts and agreements, management and reporting, external and internal communications and research management.
The Research Centre Coordinator will be given the opportunity to work remotely one day per week, with the remaining four days carried out on campus.
As the ideal candidate, you will possess:
• Highly developed administrative and organisational skills including planning, reviewing and enhancing administrative processes
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships, develop networks, facilitate engagement and build strong working relationships with stakeholders
• High level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven capacity to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures
• A high customer and quality service focus
• Experience in a similar administrative role in a higher education institution or other large organisation
• Experience in event management or organisation of events
Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $92,851 to $100,534 pa (HEW 6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
