About the Role

As a Graduate Mine Surveyor, you will be exposed to current mine surveying techniques and equipment and take part in the critical aspects of mining as provided by the Survey Departments.  You will be exposed to some world-class technologies of including use of Drones and Laser scanners and you will provide directional control for development mining, other set-outs and production drill mark-ups, install and maintain the mine survey control network, undertake void surveys using Optech / CALS survey equipment and measure / calculate mine volumes for surface stockpiles and underground voids.

Under the guidance of our experienced and skilful surveying team, you will contribute to set out blasting patterns and give direction to the mining operation to ensure that all development and mining is executed according to the specific mine design. You will be placed on a rotational program to experience multiple sites, fast tracking your knowledge of our business and the industry. Residential Mackay region, QLD. One of Australia’s fastest-growing regions that offers affordable “big city standard” services and housing in a relaxed and idyllic destination. The area offers a central location with ease of access by air, road and rail. With close proximity to the fifth busiest airport in Queensland, Mackay is serviced by more than 110 flights weekly, with more than 70 of those providing the 1.5-hour flight between Brisbane and Mackay. With 31 beaches, pristine rainforests and easy access to nearby islands, the greater Mackay region offers a great work/life balance.

Residential   Emerald region, QLD. A number of our sites are located in the Central Highlands region of Central Queensland, Australia. The region encompasses an area of around 60 000 square kilometres, making it just short of the size of Tasmania. Not only is the region home to a globally competitive coal mining industry, it also has a robust and resilient agriculture and horticultural industries. Residents have access to major health and education services. There’s access to many natural attractions including camping, fishing and other water recreational activities. For access to the beach and bigger shops, it’s approximately three-hours’ drive to the coast and there are many air services to Brisbane.  

About You
  • A Bachelor of Surveying, Spatial Science or similar (prior to commencement)
