The Position
Corson are now seeking a Grain Procurement Manager based at their key milling facility in Warwick, to procure grain for both Warwick and Darlington Point (NSW) mills. This role is a critical part of the team and includes the following responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new growers, traders, consultants, brokers & service providers
- Procurement of commodities including maize to meet mill requirements
- Execute logistics and contract arrangements with freight providers and onsite coordination to maintain grain supply
- Monitor commodity markets, supply chain and other external contributors to support and influence the analysis of market conditions
To be successful in this demanding but highly rewarding position, you will have a strong exposure to Australian grain production systems including grower interactions and bring the following skills:
- 5+ years’ experience within the Australian grains sector, ideally with exposure to maize production
- An understanding of the Australian grain supply chain and key industry participants
- Strong commercial / negotiation skills
- Natural collaborator who enjoys being part of a dynamic team
- Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- IT skills with the ability to use MS Office products
- Ability to travel interstate to attend a variety of meetings, meet growers and attend events
- Tertiary qualification in a related agricultural discipline will be highly regarded
