We're on the lookout for a Graphic Design / Print Operator to coordinate our inhouse design and graphics operations.

The Role
As our Inhouse Graphic Design/Print Operator you will be responsible for the development of artwork and graphics, both internally branded and some customised designs to meet our customer needs. You will also coordinate print production for all K9000 signage and related peripherals, including the management of print related stock, the maintenance of printing equipment, and the coordination of the print room schedules and operations.
Core to this position is also proactively engaging and connecting with customers and clients to build relationships, brand loyalty and satisfaction and ensure briefs are developed and achieved to support the customer investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the print room from design, prepress preparation, print production, lamination, through to application
- Craft branded and custom designs for a variety of customer needs, including but not limited to machine decals, banners, brochures, business signage and other advertising and promotional items.
- Prepare and adjust graphic files for printing, ensuring all designs meet print specification and K9000 branding requirements
- Operate printing machinery, manage materials inventory, and perform routine maintenance to ensure high quality print outputs
- Collaborate closely with customers and the sales to understand customer and project requirements, provide design recommendations and ensuring the creative brief is met on all projects with the inclusion of any mandatory K9000 elements.
- Liaise with the sales and production teams to ensure all customer expectations are exceeded and all projects are completed in a timely manner.
- Manage, monitor and contribute to K9000’s Brand Visual Identity & digital guidelines across all print and marketing projects ensuring that all projects follow the K9000 branding guidelines
- Ensure thorough file and image asset management and document control of all K9000 and customer Branding materials, creative and print files, marketing materials etc
- Ensure the cost effective and efficient usage of printing stock to balance customer and production needs with efficiency
- Maintaining printer and related equipment including ensuring service requirements are maintained, day to day troubleshooting is attended to, and a clean and safe print room is maintained.
- Conduct through quality control checks on all printed- materials to ensure the highest standards are met, making adjustments as necessary
- Be adept to taking on miscellaneous design projects as required from the wider business
- Develop effective reporting protocols to inform the GM of status of print room outputs, deliverables and customer needs.
The Person
To succeed in this role, you will have the following experiences and competencies:
- A qualification in Graphic Design or related field OR Relevant experience in design, print or signwriter roles
- Strong proficiency in GRAPHIC DESIGN software (Corel draw, Adobe, Indesign or similar) and familiarity with large format printing technology
- Experience operating printers, laminators and other print related equipment is desirable but not essential
- Ability to understand and interpret briefs, and execute in a creative and strategic manner
- Exceptional creative and visual skills, with a passion for design and a keen eye for detail and design trends.
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and with clients
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to tackle new challenges, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Proven commitment to quality principles including a demonstrable understanding of the importance of quality
- Video editing, website design and illustration capabilities (highly regarded)
- A commitment to ensuring safe work practices and that all work performed is in accordance with the relevant Workplace Health and Safety legislative standards and regulations

- Current Valid Driver’s Licence
