About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, a great opportunity exists for a well-rounded and motivated Group Accountant, you will be responsible for the group of entities month end, processes, reconciliations and reporting together with providing support to various internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have superior communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels plus an interest in training and mentoring junior colleagues. You will have excellent attention to detail with motivation and determination, the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot. You will utilise your knowledge to deliver accurate and dependable results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completion of month end accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and group consolidations as well as coordinating outsourced Group Accountants.
- Monthly preparation of BAS and IAS as well as other statutory returns.
- Preparation of financial reports for various stakeholders.
- Assist with the annual audit in line with the holding company and ASIC requirements.
- Assist with preparation of annual budgets.
- Provide regular updates on business performance and aid in reforecasts.
- Partner with divisional General Managers to better understand performance to budget.
- Support the migration of accounting functions from acquired entities into the group.
- Assist inhouse bookkeepers with trust receipting and payments including accounts payable and payroll transition.
Skills and Experience
- CPA or CA qualified accountant essential
- Commercially experience with a public practice background, or a 1st mover out of External Audit or Business Services
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts, including financial reporting.
- Technical competency, AASB and IFRS
- Strong MS Office skills, with intermediate/advanced MS Excel.
- Experience with Xero or similar ERP systems desirable
- Experience in Financial Services is desirable.

- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to build relationships.
- Highly proficient in excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workloads.

- Demonstrate experience in a commercial environment.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting and CA or CPA qualified.
