AddressSuburban Transport Services Pty Ltd (Suburban Taxis) has proudly been serving South Australia since 1946, providing a wide range of transport services and products to the community. In addition, from our Kilburn base we provide 24/7 call centre services for transport providers all over Australia. With a recent strategic acquisition of a key and trusted Adelaide transport provider, we will be dispatching for over 1000 vehicles daily and providing specialised services such as industry insurance.
We are seeking a Group Accountant at our Kilburn office on an initial 2-year contract. The Group Accountant reporting to the CEO is responsible for providing financial leadership to the management team while overseeing the end-to-end finance operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets and CEO/board reports;
- Preparation of annual budgets and monthly variance reports against budgets;
- Cash flow control, including daily monitoring of bank movements, commitments, and cash forecasts.
- Overseeing the finance and admin team for:
- Accounts receivable function, invoicing customers, credit control, collections;
- Accounts payable function, including control of payments to creditors;
- Payroll;
- Ensure all relevant taxation and legal requirements are being met.
- Maintenance and control of the General Ledger, account reconciliations and financial compliance;
- Financial modelling and tender support;
- Assisting the management team in strategic projects; and
- General advice in assisting the business on key operational challenges.
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Accounting or similar.
- CA/CPA qualified (desirable) or working towards.
- 5+ years' experience in an accounting role within a corporate environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels, both within the organisation and externally.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to step back and shape, or contribute to organisational strategy.
- Strong business and commercial acumen with a strong client focus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
