Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Buyer & Merchandising Manager to join our management team at the White’s IGA Support Office. The Group Buyer & Merchandising Manager will play a crucial role in shaping our product offerings, optimising supplier relationships, and driving sales through strategic negotiations and merchandising initiatives.
The Group Buyer & Merchandising Manager will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as purchasing, sales, and inventory management. They will also analyse data, communicate with suppliers and team members, and ensure efficient product placement and pricing.
Qualifications
- Analytical Skills: ability to analyse market trends, sales data, and customer needs
- Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers, team members, and customers
- Purchasing: experience and knowledge in purchasing and negotiating with suppliers
- Sales: understanding of sales strategies and ability to drive sales growth
- Inventory Management: expertise in managing inventory levels, forecasting, and minimising waste
- Attention to detail: strong attention to detail to ensure accurate product placement and pricing
- Problem-solving: ability to identify and solve merchandising and logistical challenges
- Leadership skills: experience leading and managing a team
- Relevant experience in the retail industry is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Retail Management or related field is desirable but not mandatory
