Your Impact
You are an Employment Law expert who will provide legal expertise and independent judgement in partnering with our People & Corporate Affairs team (P&CA) on matters pertaining to employment and industrial relations, privacy, conflicts of interest and whistleblowing investigations and outcomes.
Your contribution will be instrumental in resolving legal issues and fostering a compliant and ethical environment with respect to company policies and standards set by law. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise in Employment Law & governance, commercial acumen and stakeholder management skillset. Key responsibilities:
- Provide strategic advice and legal partnering on escalated material matters and complex employment/industrial matters
- Provide legal advice and partnering (where requested) on matters including but not limited to hiring, re-structures of organizational design and termination of employees and assessment of compliance with company policy and legal advice pertaining to steps to be followed
- Provide escalation support for IR/Union workplace relations matters
- Develop and roll out relevant training including with respect to Whistleblower & Conflicts of Interest & Privacy policies for target groups
- Develop procedures & templates and implement compliance programs with respect to conflicts of interest policy, monitors and report on these
- Work closely with P&CA, on any employee investigations under legal policies, ensures compliance with the Whistleblowing procedure, and manages documentation and reporting
- Work closely with Global counterparts on the annual compliance surveys including the Ethics and Compliance Survey implementation plan, communication, and result sharing.
About You
You will be a high calibre lawyer with proven PQE at a reputable law firm or equivalent in-house experience and a valid Australian practising certificate.
