The Opportunity:

Based in our North Sydney Head Office, we are seeking an experienced GroupDirector – Network Strategy to spearhead the transformation of oOh!’s strategic approach to network planning, contract acquisition and retention, network utilisation, and profit optimisation.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Operating Officer, with a key requirement to work cross-functionally with ELT along with Board exposure, you will be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of network planning, contract management, and strategic decision-making, as well as a track record of driving transformational change, and a passion for innovation within the media industry

This role is instrumental in advancing oOh!media’s growth strategy and enhancing its enterprise value through collaboration and leadership across various departments, including Commercial, Strategy (Product & Pricing), Data, Finance/Legal, and Revenue & Growth teams.  

 Your duties will also include:

  • Network Strategy: Develop a comprehensive, cross-format Network Strategy aimed at revolutionising how we evaluate, acquire, retain, grow, and potentially divest commercial contracts. This involves ensuring alignment with a clearly defined network plan, prioritising contracts based on strategic roles, and optimising bidding/tender strategies. 
  • Digitisation: Collaborate closely with Commercial & Product leads to formulate a digital investment plan geared towards optimising network composition to meet evolving market demands and deliver maximum value. 
  • Network Utilization & Profit Optimisation: Partner with Product Strategy, Pricing Strategy, and Technology teams to devise strategies and tools aimed at enhancing network utilisation, thereby enabling the network to accommodate more revenue while improving margin. 
  • Bid Strategy and Tenders: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the established bid team, guiding their approach to all tenders across the portfolio in alignment with the overarching Network Strategy

 Experience and skills required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial strategy, external relationship management, or related roles. Media or Out of Home experience highly desired. 
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful commercial strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion. 
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and industry trends. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations. 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. 
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and leading complex projects from conception to execution. 
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
