Reporting to the Finance Manager and providing support across the team, this is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to apply their skills in a role with long term potential for growth as this organisation continues to expand. You will also have the opportunity to work on some key projects, assist with putting together business cases, work within several entities and engage widely across all stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial information relating to multiple business entities within the group, including:
- Assistance with month end duties
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Posting general journals
- Ensure bank accounts are reconciled and any outstanding amounts are actioned
- Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
- Annual FBT return, including maintaining FBT registers and arranging declaration and forms
- Lodgement of Business Activity Statements, including GST and PAYG
- Assist with lease accounting in line with current AASB16 standards
- Process journals relating to bank transfers
- Cash reporting
- Take on additional ad hoc and key projects as required
- Demonstrated experience in end to end financial accounting duties, with a strong understanding of key accounting concepts and reporting standards
- You will have an appetite for learning, continuous improvement and problem solving
- A flexible attitude, someone who can manage their time effectively to adapt to changing priorities
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, as this is a key role within the team and will require someone to liaise with stakeholders across several entities
