About the role:
The role of the Group Financial Controller will involve delivering robust financial and commercial support, along with analysis to the management team. This support aids in the achievement of strategic objectives, while also ensuring the maintenance of compliance and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage head office accounting and treasury functions, including cash management, payroll, foreign currency management and payments.
- Oversee and coordinate group finance departments in Mauritius and Angola.
- Establish group accounting policies, across all projects from construction through to operations.
- Develop and manage group chart of accounts to meet financial and management reporting requirements including group consolidations.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, management and board reporting.
- Manage the group’s financial statutory reporting obligations, and audits.
- Manage compliance with tax legislation, statutory and corporate requirements.
- Preparation of accounting and taxation work papers on material or complex transactions.
- Preparation of consolidated accounts and potentially joint venture accounting.
- Preparation of Audit and Risk Committee papers relating to statutory reporting and audit.
- Manage group funding requirements, including cash flow forecasting, debt drawdowns and repayments, subsidiary cash calls, foreign exchange exposures.
- Manage project finance requirements, including covenants and financial ratios, hedging and reporting.
- Provide commercial and financial support on procurement, contracts, and major capital expenditures.
- Contribute to the preparation of project feasibility studies and in processes for project finance.
- Support CFO in executing the finance strategy.
- Regularly engage with the Executive Team to proactively address current and future business requirements.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and validation of ESG reporting.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar role or 7+ years qualified.
Strong technical accounting knowledge. - Understanding of international taxation principles will be highly regarded.
- Experience with external reporting and compliance within an ASX listed entity.
- Experience with consolidations across international entities is highly regarded.
