Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our corporate team as the Head of Technology. As a key leader in our organisation, you will be responsible for shaping and executing our technology strategy to drive innovation, scalability, and efficiency in our ecommerce operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of ecommerce technology, system architecture, and emerging trends in the tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Technology Strategy and Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the company's technology strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the technology team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with overall business objectives.
• System Architecture:
  • Design and maintain scalable and robust system architecture to support the company's growing ecommerce platform.
  • Ensure the integration of SAAS solutions and homegrown technologies, optimising for performance and reliability.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance the company's technical capabilities.
  • Streamline services to provide the greatest efficiency to team members and the best possible customer experience
  • Establish adequate 1st and 2nd line of support for tech platforms used both to service external customers and internal teams
• Integration Management:
  • Oversee the seamless integration of various systems, applications, and third-party APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Manage integration projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.
  • Overall responsibility for third party systems within the organisation and buy vs build decisions.
• Machine Learning and AI:
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of machine learning and AI capabilities to enhance customer personalization, recommendation systems, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build and deploy machine learning models.
  • Drive a data-driven culture within the technology team and the organisation as a whole.
• Resource Management:
  • Build and mentor a lean and high performing e-commerce and technology team 
  • Effectively manage both internal and outsourced resources to execute projects on time and within budget, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Identify opportunities to save costs or increase efficiency, without impacting performance or customer experience
• Project Management:
  • Take ownership of Technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address any issues.
• IT Infrastructure
  • Manage third party contractors for IT Infrastructure, cloud services etc and ensure compliance to security and compliance standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within the ecommerce industry.
• Strong background in system architecture, integration management, and API development.
• Demonstrated experience in driving data warehouse, machine learning and AI solutions.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Passionate about leveraging technology and data to create value for customers & the business'
