Belgravia Activities is part of the larger Belgravia Group and is the fastest growing sports and leisure organisation in Australia. The group’s core areas of business are sports divisions which include company owned and franchise businesses across Swim (Jump! Swim Schools), Gymnastics (GymbaROO, BK’s Gymnastics and Recreation Gymnastics Australia), Dance & Cheer, Sports Community – Sports business advisory, Belgravia Outdoor Education, Belgravia Academy (RTO) and Belgravia Sports Financial Services.

The Role

The organisation is looking for a superstar to grow, lead and oversee the finance function and reporting for six businesses in a growing area/entity of the Belgravia Group, collectively known as Belgravia Activities.  The successful candidate will be liaising with multiple stakeholders, internal and external clients, CEOs, General Managers and Board.

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish, lead and manage the financial and (associated) risk management processes for Belgravia Activities and external financial services clients, including but not limited to:
  • Strategic Business Partnering with divisional stakeholders;
  • Establish, monitor and manage budgets and forecasts;
  • Consolidate, interpret and review all financial information and KPIs;
  • Predict future trends through financial and non-financial analysis;
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly financial reporting packs (including P&L’s, Balance Sheet reconciliations and Cash Flow Statements);
  • Establish, manage and report on cashflow and, including key insights and recommendations; and
  • Assist in the development of long-term business plans based on reports to support business strategy.
  • Coordinate and deliver all monthly reporting requirements.  Design and manage financial packs, standard suite of reports and dashboards for individual and consolidated business units.    
  • Deliver great service and quality to all internal and external customers.
  • Develop strategies and policies to minimise financial and non-financial risk.
  • Monitor financial details to ensure legal requirements are met.
  • Establish and refine key processes and outputs.
  • You will support the improvement in financial acumen and increase capabilities of the Belgravia Activities finance team through coaching and training
  • Grow, lead and manager the team to deliver finance functions in a timely manner.  Including recruitment, training, performance management and team culture. 
  • Ensure a positive environment and an enjoyable place to work for all team members.

Qualification And Education Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting
  • CA/CPA qualified is essential
  • 5+ years’ work experience post-qualification in a fast-paced environment anchored by best practice principles
  • Current National Police Check and WWCC
  • Experience within Franchising and/or Sports/Recreation an advantage.
  • A history of building effective relationships across both internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Strong attention to detail and well-developed reporting and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting software packages including Xero
  • Experience with system process improvements / or system changes.
  • Current right to work in Australia.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
