A new role created to manage all HR services and programs within SPA, based in either one of our ports in Esperance, Bunbury or Albany

About the role
Reporting to the Chief People and Sustainability Officer, the Group HR Services Manager is accountable for managing all HR services and programs within SPA.
The Group HR Services Manager will focus on providing high-quality HR services to employees across multiple divisions and locations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and implementing best practices in HR service delivery. The Group HR Services Manager will also play a key role in developing and implementing HR procedures and initiatives to support the organisations overall strategic objectives.
All business activities of the Group HR Services Manager are in line with Southern Ports’ mission, vision and corporate values.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR service delivery strategies and processes to meet the needs of the organisation and its managers and employees.
  • Manage and oversee HR services such as employee onboarding, payroll processing, HR compliance and case management.
  • Conduct and lead investigations into employee complaints, grievances and performance management issues.
  • Provides specialist leadership, advice and support to the Executive and senior leaders across Southern Ports in relation to HR services.
  • Collaborate with other Group Managers in the People and Sustainability Team to ensure HR services are aligned with the organisations goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to the HR services team members on HR issues, payroll queries, performance management, processes, and procedures.
  • Lead and participate in HR projects and initiatives to enhance HR service delivery and support organisational growth and development.
  • Stay current on HR trends and best practices to ensure HR services are innovative, effective and aligned with industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and assess HR service delivery performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and support continuous improvement efforts.

Experience and Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development or another relevant field
  • Significant senior leadership experience including demonstrated experience leading and managing a team.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and implementing business improvement initiatives.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR management or other related senior management roles.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations, employment practices and best practices in HR service delivery.
  • Highly-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and influence clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly-developed conceptual and analytical skills and proven ability to design and implement strategies to support and enhance organisational performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and evaluate performance outcomes and deliver results

Requirements
To be eligible for permanent position, applicants must provide proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency and reside in Bunbury, Esperance or Albany.
The successful applicant must have a current WA driver’s licence, be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Access Card and undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing.
