About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Health, Safety and HR superstar to join our ambitious team.
As a member of the leadership team reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of health and safety standards across the Group and assisting our people leaders with all aspects of human resources.
With a keen eye for continuous improvement and a strong customer focus, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and compliant operations. As part of your role, with the support of the management team, you will review, develop, implement, and update any relevant policies and processes, monitor relevant standards, regulations, and legislation, and ensure that they are applicable to the operations of our business.
With your Health & Safety hat on and in collaboration with operations managers, you will investigate and record all accidents/incidents, recommend corrective actions as well as ensure that necessary H&S training (e.g., safety drills, first aid training) is being executed and recorded. You will also be involved in various health and safety and wellbeing initiatives across the Group.
With your HR hat on, you will provide support for all aspects of the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, development, engagement and terminations. This role acts as a trusted advisor for managers as well as ensuring compliance with local legislation and internal governance.
About you
You will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, be able to work with diverse groups and have a high level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. You will be self motivated and results focussed with strong attention to detail. If you can demonstrate flexibility and are comfortable with change and continual improvement we would like to hear from you.
You are a proven leader within the health, and Safety sectors who is a confident communicator and can establish strong relationships quickly. Stepping into a new challenge excites you and you thrive in an environment of constant change, challenge, and opportunity.
You have extensive knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislative requirements and responsibilities and by demonstrating commitment to health and safety, sustainability, and quality, you serve as a role model for others. Marine and/or dive industry knowledge and experience would be an advantage.
Ideally you will have proven experience in both health and safety and human resources and an understanding of legislative requirements in Australia. Marine and or dive industry knowledge and experience would be an advantage.
