About the Organisation

GrainGrowers is a Not-for-Profit membership charity with a national reach making a positive difference to the grain industry. We have a strong and influential voice, are progressive in our thinking and inspirational in our approach. We are at the forefront of a changing industry, setting the agenda for change that will benefit our industry now and into the future. We encourage forward thinking and innovative practices to drive the organisation forward.

About the Role

The Grower Engagement team is responsible for proactively engaging with growers in each grain growing region and is tasked with deepening on-the-ground connection with GrainGrowers’ mission, purpose, values and annual operating plan project initiatives.

Grower Engagement Officers are a critical channel for regularly collecting and returning grower insights back to the organisation. Timely and meaningful intelligence reporting ensures GrainGrowers’ national projects remain grower-focussed, and region-based perspectives are considered into the pursuit of building a more sustainable and profitable national grains industry for the benefit of Australian growers. The roles are tasked with making members feel part of the GrainGrowers membership community, are aware of their member benefits and entitlements, including opportunities for progression with time (e.g. continued skills development, opportunities for guiding policy etc)

The Grower Engagement team continues GrainGrowers’ reputation as a trusted collector of national grain grower insights which is valuable for engagement with government and industry stakeholders.

Grower Engagement Officers are intended to be a recognisable name for the organisation on a state-level – they are a grower member’s geographically closest GrainGrowers’ contact - and are tasked with growing local engagement with key stakeholders and growers in a systematic and strategic manner. Reporting of engagement and insights is a critical component of ensuring team goals are measured and met.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a highly motived self-starter with excellent organisational and networking skills. The candidate will be able to develop, engage and consult with grain growers as well as a broad range of industry stakeholders, and have a keen interest in learning about key issues impacting and affecting growers across their region.

Someone from a territory or area manager sales and account/membership management background is highly desired.

You will have highly developed communication skills with a broad understanding of social media and digital communications to be able to provide content (videos, photographs and grower interviews) for appropriate channels.

Have strong Microsoft 365 skills and CRM experience.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Drive membership and engagement growth both face to face, online and on the phone, capture feedback and viewpoints from growers and ensure grower members are consulted on key priority themes for the organisation
  • Provide a “grower perspective” during the development of policies, resources and collateral designed to support or solve challenges for the grain industry
  • Provide collateral as required to be used across GrainGrowers communication channels that is relevant to grower communities and supports the work of other business units
  • Manage and deliver face to face and online GrainGrowers events and workshops within the region on issues aligned with core business initiatives
  • Represent the organisation to a range of regional stakeholders as directed
  • Must have a current valid Australian Drivers Licence and a suitable vehicle with a per km vehicle allowance provided.

To apply submit an up-to-date CV and a covering letter outlining your suitability for the role.
