The Role
To coordinate the food safety program across the distribution centre and associated locations and ensure that internal and external audits requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee a food safety program across a temperature controlled food storage environment to ensure certification/accreditation is achieved and maintained;
Conduct and support internal and external food safety audits, including pre-audit preparation;
Review food safety audits results, consolidate key findings, propose and undertake corrective action with the guidance of the DC Operations Manager;
Develop and implement initiatives to improve site food safety and establish best practice through standard operating procedures;
Assist with staff inductions, conduct training and maintain staff training records in relation to food safety standards;
Assist in the investigation of breaches of the food safety program to determine root cause, and assist in the implementation of corrective actions where necessary.
Oversee safety programs/initiatives/processes and safety system to ensure certification/accreditation is achieved and maintained;
Support and conduct internal and external safety audits, relevant to site inspections including all relevant compliance requirements. (ie Emergency equipment, registers, FA Kits);
Review safety audits results, consolidate key findings, propose and undertake corrective action with the guidance of the DC Operations Manager;
Review and drive Elumina risk management reporting, corrective action close out and task implementation and review.
Assist and Support in the development and implementation of initiatives to improve site safety and establish best practice through standard operating procedures;
Assist with staff inductions, support, and organize any training and maintain staff training records and site records in relation to internal safety packs and the site safety system (Elumina);
Assist in the investigation of breaches of the safety program to determine root cause and assist in the implementation of corrective actions where necessary.
Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications
Strong knowledge of HACCP, OH&S regulations and cold storage principles;
Strong ability to collaborate cross functionally;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills;
Ability to ensure staff understand and operate to the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOP);
Strong attention to detail;
Strong computer literacy;
Flexible and adaptable attitude with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional disposition;
Self motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
