About The Roles + Key Responsibilities
This is fantastic opportunity to work with positive, energetic and rapidly growing company. Currently operating a kitchen in Lane Cove West, we are building on our wholesale customer base into some of Australia's largest retail chains. We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic and positive Head/Qualified Chef to take on the QC of the Meal Production, and take charge of our rapidly growing soup production, while upholding our dedication to food safety, quality, consistency, nutrition and taste.
This Head Chefs tasks will be:
Prepping and managing day-to-day meal bases, soups, proteins, sauces in a hands on manner to ensure daily production levels are achieved.
Training and coaching staff to enable them to best perform their roles and progress their careers, build a positive team environment, and lead the team to success. Fast Fuel accepts nothing short of exceptional food quality and freshness, and as Head Chef you need to not only uphold these values, but train your staff to do the same.
Quality Control, recipe control, monitoring stock rotation, conduct regular stocktake and reducing food waste and cost.
Work with other team personnel cohesively including Production Manager /Staff and Delivery Drivers to ensure production time-frames are met.
Continually work to identify and solve problems regarding efficiency and food quality
Manage and maintain food safety and kitchen hygiene, as per SQF guidelines
Prerequisites
5+ years in the hospitality industry, with some of this time spent in a Head Chef or Sous Chef role leading a team.
Demonstrated experience in an SQF Kitchen and daily implementation of procedural operations
Working knowledge using emails, reading spreadsheets and food cost/wage reports.
Food Safety Certificate mandatory.
