Restaurant & Events, this is a busy restaurant operating 6 days a week with a unique purpose-built private event space upstairs. Situated on the city fringe in NewQuay Docklands, it has breathtaking panoramic views over Victoria Harbour and the Melbourne city skyline. We are looking for a talented and driven chef with a high level of restaurant experience, an in-depth understanding of kitchen systems, a people person that loves to inspire others, and the ability to work under pressure to a very high level.

We are looking for a capable and can be responsbibe for all elements of the kitchen operations including focusing on Customer Experience, Menu Development and Training

The Role:

• Management and leadership of a large team
• Assisting with creative development of new and special menu items
• Following and enforcing workplace health and safety requirement
• Maintaining a high standard of cuisine
• Developing kitchen services standards that ensure efficiencies and compliance
• Managing COGS, stock, and wages to ensure profitability
• Fostering a high-performance culture by benchmarking behaviour
• Training, mentoring, and developing the kitchen team

About you:

• 2 years previous experience in a similar role
• Organized, creative and an eye for detail
• A good understanding of modern cooking techniques and trends
• Excellent communication skills and a team player
• Formal cooking qualification
• A commitment to personal and professional growth.
• Week day, week night and week end availability is essential
• Experience in training and developing a team
• Provides a positive, create and passionate team environment
