The Australia team is seeking to add a Head of Category Management to join our team and develop the PC business for Amazon. This role is the single threaded Leader for the PC business in Australia (includes subcategories such as Hardware, Accessories and Storage), being one of our largest retail categories by revenue.
The individual will be both a player and a coach with exceptional multi-tasking skills, able to re-balance priorities and seamlessly transition between the short-term and laying the foundations for scale in the long term with in-depth knowledge of the P&L, multiple Retail functions and the ability to influence multi-level/-functional stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
  • Full P&L responsibility, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the respective categories. Must be adept at understanding internal and external variables (inputs) that impact the business and how to deploy against each to attain the desired results.
  • Strong passion for hiring, developing and leading a team of Category Managers.
  • Proven record of driving strategic negotiations and delivering outsized results.
  • Comfortable representing Amazon when meeting with senior executive teams from top suppliers.
  • Effective at setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.
  • Skilled communicator in working with Amazon partners and suppliers, as well as with internal groups such as buying, site merchandising, marketing, PR, finance, operations, and retail systems to deliver innovation and a better customer experience.
  • Strong in cross functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising and in-stock.
  • Adept at identifying industry trends that are relevant to customer selection and experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- 5+ years of team management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience at a senior level ideally in an e-commerce, retail, key account management or consulting role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
