About the role

NOTE: This role is based in Tasmania

TasNetworks is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Leader to oversee our Regulated Commercial Portfolio. As Head of Commercial, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the engagement and commercial performance of high-profile projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and revenue generation.

You will be an innovative and results-driven leader with significant experience in leading commercial opportunities within the utilities sector. You will need to demonstrate your experience in the successful identification, generation and establishment of new commercial business opportunities and in the negotiation of high-level contracts and agreements. The ideal candidate is someone with high level financial management skills and business acumen and can lead a results-driven team to achieve commercial success. The role will require strong communication and stakeholder management skills and collaborative behaviours with industry stakeholders to find solutions to emerging challenges.

You will be adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment with an ability to be flexible and take on and resolve challenges. You will be passionate and driven with extensive experience in your field helping you build credibility quickly with your customers and stakeholders

This role is based at our Lenah Valley office and will require some intrastate travel.

About you

As a Head of Commercial you will have a demonstrated commitment to safety and possess negotiation and conflict management skills, preferably with experience in project management and the administration of robust agreements.

We are seeking an exceptional leader to head our commercial team and drive the identification, negotiation, and implementation of new commercial opportunities. You will be responsible for growing our regulated income and actively managing existing commercial agreements and customer relationships.

In addition, you would be a proficient collaborator with a continuous improvement mindset and be able to coordinate stakeholders to provide holistic customer solutions and lead the development and implementation of Commercial frameworks, policies, and processes. This will enable the successful delivery of programs, supporting TasNetworks' strategic transmission network vision.

The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and be adept at developing and implementing commercial strategies. They will be responsible for achieving revenue growth targets and enhancing profitability.

A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, along with professional competence and experience, is preferred.

You would have a practical understanding of the National Electricity Rules, the large-scale renewable energy market, and the associated commercial risks.
