About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Strategically lead the vision for the Arts Department, encompassing Music, Dance, Drama, Visual Arts, and Media, including enhancing our Extra-Curricular programs to grow student participation and engagement.
- Oversee the implementation of Arts curriculum in Years 7-12 including Australian Curriculum, ATAR and Applied Subjects and VET pathways.
- Lead our Instrumental Music Programme and our Programs of Excellence in Music, Dance, and Visual Art, developing a collaborative, student-focused vision facilitated by our team of specialist teachers.
- Drive the professional development of staff within the department, identifying needs and opportunities to build both organisational and personal capacity, fostering a highly collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Direct the management of administrative operations within the department, ensuring the effective organisation and implementation of the Arts programs and activities calendar.
- Cultivate and enrich relationships with industry professionals, external stakeholders, and cluster primary schools, enhancing opportunities for our students and staff.
Highly desirable skills and experience;
- Possesses a genuine passion for the Arts and are eager to share this love with both students and teachers, appreciating the individuality and unique talents of each.
- Has a leadership style that is characterised by energy, optimism, and an outgoing disposition, inspiring innovation and a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Has proven experience in leading teams and developing strategic visions within an educational setting, particularly in the Arts.
- Demonstrates excellent organisational, financial, and administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
