The College is seeking to appoint an experienced Head of English to lead and oversee our English Faculty, commencing in January 2025. Reporting to the Head of Teaching and Learning - Secondary, the successful candidate will be responsible for inspiring, empowering, guiding, and challenging teachers and students to achieve academic and holistic personal goals of growth and success.
The Head of English is responsible for leading, promoting, supporting, and sustaining a dynamic learning culture that models and promotes the effective use of developmentally responsive practices. They will strive to be an example of a lifelong learner who embraces change, trusts in the assistance of others and recognises the dynamic nature of the educational environment.
To be successful, you will:
- Be a growth-focused and dynamic leader of the English learning area who can translate ideas and concepts into action through a consultative and collaborative leadership approach, analyse complex situations and engage proactively with others to enable positive change and continuous improvement.
- Be highly visible, building strong and productive relationships with staff, students, parents, and out community, and be a compelling advocate for the College.
- Be passionate about contemporary evidence-based pedagogy, with a record of creating learning experiences and environments in which students thrive.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bring positive energy, resilience, good judgement, and warmth.
- Current QCT registration
