Your new roleThe
Head of Investment Capability, Liquidity & Implementation, reports to the Chief Liquidity Officer (CLO) and is responsible for the design, development and implementation of capabilities across the Liquidity & Implementation (L&I) team at AustralianSuper. Your new role will include responsibility for strategic and growth planning, and development of L&I's global operating model. You will also oversee the administrative functions of FICC. Your role forms part of the L&I senior leadership team and involves significant engagement with senior stakeholders and is being created at a time of significant growth for AustralianSuper, both in size and geography.
Key duties include but are not limited to:- Lead development of the L&I Portfolio and Capability strategy across the asset classes and portfolio functions, and within the Investments wider strategy. This is to be undertaken with consideration for business direction, organisational support, required capabilities and comparison to relevant peer organisations.
- Lead development of the organisational design of the L&I team to achieve its strategy, including offshore growth, and implementing that design.
- Enable business planning, including identifying strategic priorities, resourcing, system and investment process requirements.
- Lead enablement of the L&I Capability strategy. This includes close collaboration with the L&I senior team and the delivery of targeted projects and initiatives, at times acting in the capacity of a project manager to develop supporting business cases, implementation plans, system and process capabilities, operational testing and go-live governance. Working closely with the CIO Office and Operations teams.
- Oversee delivery of the L&I team annual budget and business plan.
- Develop and oversee budget of the L&I team within the broader Investments and Fund cost envelopes.
- Understand the requirements of the Fund and its Members and other stakeholders (e.g. Board, Board Sub-committees, regulators), including the Fund's strategic and departmental objectives and agreed service levels, to ensure their needs are being met by supplier arrangements (cost, quality and risk).
- Motivate and inspire the team and suppliers by demonstrating commitment to the Fund's values, decision pillars and leadership principles.
What you'll need- Strong tertiary qualification, preferably in finance, economics, law or related fields.
- 15+ years in management consulting, funds/asset management or finance sectors with direct experience in an implementation related role.
- Strong understanding of Investment processes
- High level of initiative and ability to work with minimal direction.
- Excellent stakeholder relationship skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, setting and managing multiple conflicting priorities within specified time frames.
- Proven ability to lead teams and enable initiatives outside one's field of expertise
- Strategic thinking with superior organisational skills.
