The Opportunity
Lead, manage and mentor the Investor Operations Team to ensure that operational deliverables are consistently met and exceeded and to maintain a consistent and positive relationship with La Trobe clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to, and foster the development of, a client centric and risk aware culture across the department.
- Oversee the staff to ensure accurate and timely output from the Investor Operations teams.
- Maintain and improve upon adequate and up to date written procedures across all processes.
- Ensure all tasks have other team members cross trained to provide coverage during periods of leave.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how business initiatives impact the the customer and provide a solutions focused approach to management of customer and business needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations, and that breaches and errors are contained, captured and reported to compliance.
- Escalate issues to senior management as appropriate. Remediate issues in timely manner.
- Ensure effective resolution of complaints and issues escalated by clients.
- Oversee operational performance of the team, quickly identifying, addressing and resolving issues.
- Ensure all operational standards are consistently met.
- Build relationships across the whole of La Trobe Financial and where relevant the wider industry to continue to strengthen the La Trobe Financial brand and demonstrate La Trobe Financial’s corporate values at all times.
About you
- Previous experience in financial industry and staff management.
- Unit Trust/ Unit Registry experience is preferred, but not required
- Proven management experience in a fast-paced financial services operational environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- High level of attention to detail, initiative and planning
- High level of computer proficiency
- Ability to set & meet deadlines with competing priorities
- Experience in reporting to senior management on performance
