Deliver the RCA’s Public Affairs, stakeholder relations and advocacy strategy to raise awareness of RCA and patients with rare and less common cancers. To seek to address the needs of patients and consumers in relation to rare and less common cancers and associated inequities to diagnosis, treatment and support through policy, advocacy and government affairs to maintain RCA’s leadership position in cancer policy development.
- Deliver the RCA’s Public Affairs, stakeholder relations and advocacy strategy to raise awareness of rare cancers and position the organisation as the leading national voice on rare, less common and complex cancers.
- Lead advocacy, government relations, and policy development to address identified gaps, needs or inequities related to rare cancers.
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders such as consultants, Key Opinion Leaders, patient advocacy groups, researchers, industry, politicians, government officials and the Department of Health bureaucrats to progress RCA’s policy agenda.
- Represent RCA by attending stakeholder/committee meetings, conferences and participate as appropriate to promote patient experiences and related policy positions.
- Lead the development and creation of Policy publications, such as policy briefs, evidence statements, reports, media releases, and op-eds.
- Provide strategic advice and expertise on stakeholder engagement, policy, communciation and issues advice to the CE and broader organisation .
- Remain abreast of emerging technologies, the health care system and related current and projected inequities for those diagnosed with RLCC.
- Act as a Media Spokesperson for RCA and represent the organisation at public events/forums as required- second to the CE
- Drives parliamentary functions to raise awareness of RCA, policy agenda and foster government relations.
