SEEKING A HEAD OF PROPERTY ACCOUNTING. SALARY CIRCA $170K. WFH FLEXIBILITY. SOUTH YARRA LOCATION

AboutOur client is a property investment firm based in South Yarra and they are seeking a Head of accounting to set this side of the business up.

As the Head of Accounting you'll play a crucial role in shaping and executing our tax strategies for property investors while growing a team of talented professionals. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally, providing strategic guidance on tax planning, compliance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise their clients tax position and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Grow & build a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide tax insights and support business initiatives.
• Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, advising management on potential impacts and opportunities.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
• 
  Tax Returns:
  
  • Entering and allocating accounting transactions for SMSFs
  • Undertaking bank and investment reconciliations
  • Preparing financial statements and tax returns for SMSFs
  • Managing rollovers, contributions, pensions, and lump sums for funds
  • Consulting with third parties such as the Australian Tax Office and financial institutions
  • Accurate record-keeping, processing, and system management
  • Supporting our network of financial and investment advisers

About you:

• Accounting degree is a must
• Their environment can be fast-paced, and we work with multiple clients at any one time, so your ability to manage competing priorities is equally as important as your accounting skills.
